All public and private gatherings of 10 or more people are prohibited unless they can assure a spacing of at least six feet between people at all times. TRANSFER STATION - OPEN MULCH LOADING AREA - CLOSED Fayette County, Georgia, April 2, 2020 – – Fayette County contracts with Waste Management to operate the Fayette County Transfer Station located at 211 First Manassas Mile Road in Fayetteville. Waste Management is currently maintaining regular hours of operation at the site. We encourage all visitors to follow the guidance below: Adhere to social distancing recommendations Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60-95% alcohol. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Stay home when you are sick. Cough or sneeze into your elbow or use a tissue to cover it, then throw the tissue in the trash. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces. Effective Saturday, April 4, 2020, Fayette County will no longer load mulch from the Transfer Station’s Yard Waste Area on First Manassas Mile Road. Dogwood Trail Culvert Replacement - Update Fayette County, Georgia, April 2, 2020 – Dogwood Trail is currently CLOSED to ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC between Farr Road and Tyrone Road for the demolition of the two failing 120-inch corrugated metal pipes and the construction of Fayette County's largest culvert, a 48-ft by 14-ft concrete bottomless arch culvert. The lengthy delay caused by the unforeseen need and construction of a modular bridge for a temporary 6-inch gas main is finally complete. The County’s contractor, Helix Group, has remobilized onsite and is continuing with construction at an accelerated rate. The anticipated completion date for this project is August 2020.
